How does the studio interact with and contribute to the broader design community?

As the marketing department is only made up of five members much of the design work that is produced is actually done through outsourced agencies. As such various members of the marketing department do interact with outside agencies. They commission and allow these agencies to contribute to the good work that the RSPCA does by designing marketing and communication collateral for both web and print. People in various design agencies love working on philanthropic/charitable causes due to the nature of the work, the feel good buz, and their ability to earn commendations and rewards from their peers and various design organisations such as AGDA and BADD. It's important to note that this collaboration also brings fresh ideas and allows the RSPCA to stay current. Sometimes when it comes to in-house design, the look and feel of projects can become repetitive, boring and a bit stale.

How does the studio impact their community?

Campaigns, events and social media presence enables the RSPCA to get their message across, not just for animal adoptions but for overall animal welfare.

• They use these mechanisms to educate the public on proper animal care

• Awareness allows more people to visit the various shelters throughout Queensland

• Fundraising and donations are increased

• Adoptions and desexing also increase

• People neglecting or mistreating their pets or other animals also decreases

• They also gain recruitment of volunteers
